PERBEDAAN SISTEM PENILAIAN HASIL BELAJAR PADA KURIKULUM PONDOK PESANTREN TRADISIONAL DAN MODERN: KAJIAN PUSTAKA

Abstract

Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) are one of the Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia that have distinctive characteristics in learning and assessment systems. In their development, pesantren have taken various forms, including traditional and modern pesantren. Differences in curriculum characteristics between the two types of pesantren also influence the assessment of students' learning outcomes. This study aims to examine the differences in learning outcome assessment systems between traditional and modern pesantren curricula. This study uses a literature review method (library research) by examining relevant scientific journals, books, and previous studies. The results show that traditional pesantren tend to use assessments that are closely related to daily learning activities, such as the ability to read and understand classical Islamic books, memorization, oral examinations, religious practices, and observation of students' attitudes and character. Meanwhile, modern pesantren tend to apply more structured assessment systems through assignments, written examinations, oral examinations, practical activities, daily assessments, and semester examinations. Although there are differences in the forms and implementation of assessment, both systems have the same general purpose, namely to identify students' learning development and support the formation of knowledge, skills, and good character.
